4. Buckling and Curling Shingles This could be due to improperly applied felt or movement in the deck.
5. Blistering Shingles This is usually caused by moisture or excessive use of asphalt plastic cement.
6. Algae Growth This is caused by airborne algae that is deposited on your roof. While this is unslightly, it typically does not affect the life of your roof. If you live in a warm climate, there are algae-resistent shingles available.
7. Rotting Rot is caused by the absorbtion of moisture at the core of the shingle. This is a common problem with organic-based shingles.
